Talking Bear

Old Shaman for the Jamestown Natives

This old man looks mostly like a collection of bones and baggy skin. He is rarely seen without layers of furs wrapped around his wizened form, seemingly always cold. Talking Bear’s eyes are rheumy and nearly blind, and his teeth are mostly missing, though a few stained pegs hold onto life.

Talking Bear is a shaman of a local Jamestown tribe and has been for nearly fifty years. He is over eighty years old and has enjoyed the love of two wives and nearly fifteen children, one being the grandfather of Otter. Many of his children have already passed on, leaving grandchildren and great-grandchildren to care for the sometime absent-minded man.
